A five-storey apartment block could be built in Nelson on the site of a vacant cash-and-carry business, if councillors give the go-ahead to a planning application.

In a number of ways, planning officers say aspects of the proposed apartment block are acceptable. For example, the site is a sustainable location within Nelson, the M65 corridor and walking distance to public transport and essential services.
New residential apartments would not not create or suffer any privacy, daylight or noise issues. The Bradley Road area includes business and industrial premises but any sound issues could be controlled with insulation in the new flats.
