Florence said it’s ‘not in her nature’ to postpone a show but a broken foot has left her with no choice

Florence and the Machine have postponed their Glasgow OVO Hydro show after lead singer Florence Welch broke her foot onstage while performing.

. The singer said she was left ‘heartbroken’ advising fans to ‘hang on to your tickets’.The OVO Hydro has confirmed a new date will be announced in due course and 'all tickets remain valid for the new date'. Florence posted on Twitter alongside a picture of a blood splattered stage reads: "I’m so sorry to say that after an x ray it seems I was dancing on a broken foot last night. It is not in my nature to postpone a show, and certainly not a UK tour, but I’m in pain and as dancers know, dancing on an injury is not a good idea. And have been told not to perform to avoid further damage.
