West Palm Beach is now pumping water from underground wells to help with its declining drinking-water supply.The Florida city's primary water sources, Grassy Waters Preserve and Clear Lake, are experiencing low water levels. This is because of the 'impacts of the lack of seasonal rainfall and record-high temperatures,' the West Palm Beach Utilities Department said in a statement on Wednesday.
Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday are days reserved for addresses that end in zero, two, four, six and eight.The city calls watering lawns a 'major contributor to water waste, with nearly half of residential water use dedicated to irrigation.''By collectively committing to reduce irrigation, we can substantially impact water conservation and safeguard our resources,' officials said.
