There’s no timeline for when the Port of Baltimore will reopen to cargo ships after one hit the Francis Scott Key Bridge early Tuesday morning.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Now that ships can’t get through one of the nation’s busiest ports, it is expected to have a ripple effect on the global supply chain.

“It’s something we discuss with the Coast Guard quite a bit. What do you do if some incident happens and a major seaport is shut down?” Florida Ports Council CEO Michael Rubin said. “The whole supply chain crisis those vessel calls to look elsewhere and you’ll see a similar thing here however long it takes Baltimore to get back up and running,” Rubin said.
