A local community centre said residents are 'in mourning' following the tragic incident
Flowers and tributes have been left at the scene where a 14-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in Harpurhey. Police and paramedics were called to Tavistock Square at around 6pm on Friday evening following reports of a stabbing.
A section 60 stop and search is also in force following the tragedy and will run until 8.26pm on Saturday evening. It covers Boggart Hole Clough, Harpurhey and Monsall and will give police powers to prevent further serious incidents going forward. The community group posted: "As a community we are in mourning after hearing of the tragic death of a 14 year old boy yesterday evening. We offer our condolences to the family and friends, and our support in whatever way we can.
“A Section 60 authority has been put in place which will run for 24 hours and finish at 8.26pm this evening, we have taken this course of action to keep the public who live and work within the vicinity of the incident safe.
