ILLNESSES such as influenza and pneumonia are killing more people than the coronavirus in the UK, figures have revealed.

Experts have now warned that while there has been an increase in coronavirus cases, other conditions are also rife in the UK.It stated: "The number of death registrations in England and Wales involving Covid-19 decreased by 37 deaths from 138 in Week 34 to 101 in Week 35, the lowest number of Covid-19 deaths registered since Week 11 - the first week Covid-19 deaths were registered .

He added that the government had "ignored" the human cost of the coronavirus lockdown after he said that the NHS coped by "shutting itself down to all but Covid admissions, A&E, and maternity care". The ONS stated that the leading causes of death in July were dementia and Alzheimer's disease which accounted for 10.6 per cent of all deaths in England, and ischaemic heart disease which accounted for 11.7 per cent of all deaths in Wales.In July it accounted for 4,034 deaths in England.
