It was a rock 'n' roll masterclass from the Foo Fighters in Manchester
Foo Fighters kicked off their UK tour in Manchester on Thursday night - with a three hour epic spanning hits from across their 30 years in rock.What then followed was a rock 'n' roll masterclass as the band played out hit after hit to a bouncing Manchester crowd.While the band's biggest hits naturally prompted the biggest singalongs, there were plenty of rare treats for diehard fans to enjoy too.
The setlist included fan favourites like The Pretender, All My Life, Best of You and My Hero to a huge response in Manchester. There was also a live debut of previously unheard track Unconditional towards the end of the first Manchester show. Aurora was dedicated to the band's late, great drummer Taylor Hawkins.
The Foos will perform at Emirates Old Trafford again on Saturday, before heading out to gigs in Glasgow, London and Birmingham in the weeks ahead. Doors at Old Trafford opened at 4pm, and the support acts Loose Articles and Wet Leg played to their published times on opening night.
