A Lanarkshire-based food shop is set to close it's doors and open a sandwich shop instead as it struggles with rising prices.

Taking to social media, the food team announced the news citing 'ridiculous' bills and the 'sky-rocketing' costs of products admitting they, like many other small businesses, are 'fighting a daily battle against the apparent never ending issues facing us all'.Announcing the move on Instagram, they explained: "Over two years ago we started punting potatoes in the midst of a pandemic. Hundreds of deliveries and six months later we opened a shop.

"As a small business we have been fighting a daily battle against the apparent never ending issues facing us all.
