A football club has paid tribute to a "dedicated" and "friendly" coach who sadly passed away following a medical emergency . Brigg Town FC CIC has paid tribute to their Under-14s Manager Andrew Casey, after he died following a medical emergency at their Junior Presentation Day on Saturday, May 16.
He was given medical assistance at the scene, and the emergency services were called, but he sadly died. The club said: "It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our U14 Manager, Andrew Casey, following a medical emergency at our Junior Presentation Day yesterday.
"Despite the immediate assistance given at the scene and the best efforts of the emergency services, Andrew sadly passed away. "Andrew was more than just a coach to our club. He was a dedicated manager, a friendly face to everyone he met, and someone who gave so much of his time and energy to his players and the wider club community.
His passion for football, commitment to his team, and genuine kindness made a lasting impact on so many young people and families. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
"Our thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt condolences are with Andrew’s family, friends, players, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss. " The club offered their support and thanks to those who responded and who offered assistance during the incident. It added: "Once a Zebra, always a Zebra".
