Unai Emery expressed his disappointment despite a strong Aston Villa performance in their defeat against Manchester United, stating "we deserved more".
He said to BBC Sport: "We deserved more. We weren't clinical today. Their goalkeeper made some very good saves and they were clinical. We had to reset and we are frustrated but we have to be positive. Manchester United are more of a contender to be where we are than us and we have a gap to them. We have to be strong in the mind and not lose our focus and focus on how we are trying to build the team and be stronger. The performance today was how we are trying to build.
Shaw, 28, was substituted at half-time in United's 2-1 win at Villa Park. He was replaced for Victor Lindelof.
