A woman was beaten with an iron bar, forced to eat paint and smashed over the head with two mirrors by an aspiring footballer.The victim said she was left with a broken jaw in a series of traumatic attacks by the sportsman who has played for Retford United, Boston United and Guiseley AFC.Reece Thompson pleaded guilty and was jailed over the attacks
She told the court how Thompson rubbed glass into her back and threatened to make her run down the street naked.When she cried out for help he allegedly told her to take the beating ‘like a real person’. The victim, who wished to remain anonymous, suffered deep bruising on her body, while her face was blackened after the attacks.Nottingham Crown Court was told the victim was subjected to abusive and humiliating attacks for three days straight.
She told Lincolnshire Live: ‘Reece repeatedly hit me. He hit me with an iron bar, broke my jaw and smashed a mirror over my head.The victim had glass rubbed into her back during the abuse ‘It was when he picked up the second mirror that I thought I was going to die, I screamed for him to stop or he would kill me.Thompson pleaded guilty to damaging property, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and inflicting grievous bodily harm when he appeared at court on April 3.
