Recent data from the Ministry of Justice has revealed that foreign criminals who avoided deportation committed more than 10,000 crimes in the year to March 2022. This marks a 25% increase from the previous year's total of 8,021. Over the last four years, these offenders have been responsible for 40,000 crimes, including robbery, drug dealing, and even murder.
Notable cases highlighted include Jamaican criminal Ernesto Elliot, who murdered a man in a knife attack six months after his deportation was halted, and Amine Bentaib, known as the 'Rolex Ripper', who attempted to steal a £18,000 watch from a grandfather in London
