Millions of people are being evacuated amid an 'increasing threat to life'

Flights between the UK and Florida have been cancelled as the US braces for Hurricane Milton. Milton is expected to make landfall on the west coast of Florida on Wednesday night or Thursday morning, with tropical force winds affecting the west coast from Wednesday morning. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said there was an increasing risk of a life-threatening storm surge on the west coast, and heavy rainfall and high winds are expected to impact large parts of Florida.
