There is an increased risk of danger to life with some areas 'off limits'
The Foreign Office has updated its advice for anyone travelling to Turkey this summer, with areas ruled 'off-limits. The advice was updated this week ahead of the key summer season that sees 1.6million British tourists visit the country.
The FCDO advice now reads: "There is a high threat of terrorist attack globally affecting UK interests and British nationals, including from groups and individuals who view the UK and British nationals as targets. You should remain vigilant at all times. The FCDO advises against all travel within 10km of the border with Syria. It says there is fighting in Syria close to the Turkish border and that the conflict means roads in Hatay province going towards the border may be subject to closure.
