Police remain on the M8 westbound at J28a, which is closed while investigation works are carried out following the incident in the early hours. A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection.
Forensics have descended on the M8 near Glasgow Airport this afternoon after a fire in the early hours shut down part of the busy motorway - which has been closed for 11 hours now.
Emergency services remain at the scene with J28a to J30 currently closed while police investigations are carried out.
