Nottingham Forest fans have been sharing their thoughts on the ongoing City Ground redevelopment negotiations

The latest developments around Nottingham Forest's City Ground has got fans talking, especially with the news that city commissioners might get involved in talks between Nottingham City Council and the football club. It was recently confirmed that talks on extending the club's lease have stalled as the city council, the owner of the land which the historic stadium sits on, tries to ensure "best value for taxpayers.

Rodneyndave had more to say, explaining: "Forest were never going to build that stand, if they were it’d have been done by now, even allowing for Covid. A new stadium is going to be built, there will be a hundred different hands in the till with a capital project costing hundreds of millions. Construction, professionals, councils, the owners, land owners, workers, transport etc etc. And by the way, what a way to muddy things up when it comes to financial fair play.

Nottnow asked: "Why’s everything got to be so complicated with this city, city council and any infrastructural changes/ development opportunities." Gethin2017 reasoned: "Anything rented of the council has had an increase. Why should a football club be any different." Forestranger said: "So what you're saying is, to go from 250k a year to a million is quite reasonable?"

Redone62 said: "This is only my view, me and my lad, who is in a wheelchair were season ticket holders in the castle club which is now the legends lounge for 25 years. We stopped having a season ticket when Forest removed the glass screen which made it too cold for us. I think Forest is in need of a brand new stadium, the facilities are not up to scratch compared to a lot of Championship stadiums let alone Premier League ones. They make almost nothing when there are no football matches.
