The Acolyte introduces a brand new Force group

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The first trailer for The Acolyte proves the series has a much broader view of the Force than the dogmatic view of the Jedi and the Sith. Initially, many expected The Acolyte to be Star Wars’ first Sith-centered series, focusing on how the Sith cult survived unnoticed by the Jedi for a millennium.

There Are Multiple Force Cults In Star Wars Close Despite Star Wars constantly focusing on the Jedi and the Sith, the franchise has revealed plenty of other Force cults that utilize and worship the Force. Nevertheless, the movies and tv shows rarely delve too deeply into these mysterious cults. For example, the sequels set up the Knights of Ren as a fascinating group of dark side users before Kylo unceremoniously kills them at the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The Acolyte Does Not Just Focus On Jedi And Sith Jodie Turner-Smith has been revealed to play a new character in The Acolyte named Mother Aniseya, who leads a mysterious, unnamed coven of witches, who are potentially interested in the Force. According to Aniseya’s synopsis, her witches value their independence above all else.

In addition to Aniseya’s coven of witches, The Acolyte also briefly showcased Manny Jacinto as a former smuggler named Qimir. How he gets wrapped up in the power struggle in The Acolyte has yet to be revealed, but his existence proves the show isn’t merely focusing on Jedi and Sith; his character is sure to provide yet another viewpoint on the High Republic. Meanwhile, there’s a strong reason to believe The Acolyte’s main character may straddle the line between Jedi, Sith, and witch.
