Put away your toes and open up your bags, because Alaïa has done it again.
We’ve all heard about the Alaïa mesh flats. Beloved by celebrities from Jennifer Lawrence to Dua Lipa, the cult flat has spawned a thousand knockoffs since its rise to fame last year. But Dua Lipa has us thinking that mesh is coming for a different accessory next. The singer took to Instagram yesterday to share snapshots of preparations for her Radical Optimism tour, which kicked off last night in Berlin.
While visiting the Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin, Dua toted around a half-moon bag made of black netting, lined in leather—Alaïa’s Demi bag. While many people can probably get behind mesh produce bags, it may feel vulnerable to carry around a semi-transparent purse. But for those concerned, worry not: while we think we can make out wire headphones, a pouch, and a travel notebook, we definitely can’t see her credit card number.
