Forget Veganuary and Dry January – if you’re going to make a New Year’s resolution, at least make it fun
We’ve had war, a cost-of-living crisis and endless government chaos. Let’s not add more to our plates by creating a pointless list‘The problem with New Year’s resolutions is that they often do not last’, writes Kia-Elise Green With Christmas over, the era of rediscovering and reinventing ourselves is here. But as we bring in 2023, I have some advice. If you make one New Year’s resolution, it should be this: to ditch all New Year’s resolutions.
If you’ve written a list, scrunch it up and throw it away, make a paper aeroplane out of it, recycle it. If you’ve got competing ideas in your head, pop them in the mentally erased box. In fact, even if you’ve started buying things in the name of self-improvement, take them back and get a refund. You won’t use the skipping rope or 2kg weights more than three times, I can assure you., only 28 per cent of people kept the resolutions they made for themselves in 2022.
