A former top TV executive for ABC is railing against California's property rights laws after his Los Angeles mansion was taken over for months by a squatter.
A former top television executive is warning others about California's squatters laws after he lost millions of dollars in rent and property damage because of a squatter, according to a new report. 'The laws in California are crazy. I tell everyone all the time, ‘Do not rent your home. In California, you have no rights whatsoever,’' Steve McPherson recently told Los Angeles Magazine.
When McPherson's housekeeper returned to the Los Angeles home as the end of the six-month lease neared, she discovered that most of the McPherson family's furniture was missing and his collection of vintage wines was missing from the cellar. After rushing back to his property, Srivastava refused to let the homeowner in and he had to call the police to enter his own property, McPherson claims.
