Images and videos show the extent of the devastation caused by a raging inferno at the Coatbridge primary school building. Crews battled to contain the flames into the early hours of this morning.
Footage taken after a blaze tore through a former Coatbridge primary school shows the burnt out shell of the premises.
Emergency services rushed to the derelict building on Gartsherrie Road - formerly known as Gartsherrie School - after receiving reports of the inferno at around 7.45pm on Sunday evening . Thick plumes of smoke could be seen, all the way from Glasgow city centre. Crews battled the vicious flames well into the early hours of the following the morning. The building appears to have lost its roof in the fire and many of the windows seem to be blown out.
