Clarke Carlisle , 45, a former Premier League star who has openly discussed his battles with depression and multiple suicide attempts , has revealed he is working 12-hour Amazon delivery shifts to support himself while running his mental health charity. Carlisle, who played for England Under-21s and clubs such as Burnley, QPR, and Leeds United, is the chief operating officer of the charity It's Mental, which provides wellbeing coaching.
He survived a serious incident in December 2014 where he stepped in front of a lorry traveling at 60mph but has attempted to take his own life four more times since. Carlisle says he has made significant psychological progress and can now truly say 'I am well'. He has also expressed deep emotion over witnessing the aftermath of a road accident during one of his delivery rounds
