Hundreds of FA betting charges for former Lincoln City star
Footballer Harry Toffolo has been charged by the FA with 375 breaches of betting regulations. He was charged by the Football Association on Wednesday, July 12 after it was alleged that he breached rules on players betting or passing information that could be used for betting.During this time, he was contracted to Norwich City, playing on loan at the likes of Rotherham United, Swindon Town and Peterborough United.
Toffolo, widely regarded as one of the best players to play for Lincoln in the modern era, has until July 19 to respond to these allegations. He left Sincil Bank to join Championship side Huddersfield Town in January 2020, helping the Yorkshire side reach the play-off final in 2022, before joining Nottingham Forest in the Premier League that summer.
The left-back made 19 appearances last season, in what was his first taste of Premier League football. His case comes after a high-profile suspension of Brentford forward Ivan Toney, who was banned for eight months and fined £50,000 after accepting he breached betting rules 232 times. Toney’s suspension was reduced from eleven to eight months following the diagnosis of a gambling addiction.
