Former Labor minister Stephen Conroy says Hamas is not committed to a two-state solution and instead wants to exterminate the state of Israel .
Mr Conroy said Hamas declared a “unilateral war” after killing 1,300 people and Israel had “every right” to react to that. “Their supporters in the street when they sing about wanting to go from the river to the sea, they are talking about extermination of the state of Israel,” Mr Conroy told Sky News Australia.
“We all want to see a stable two-state solution that will ensure peace and stability for everybody in the Middle East. “Hamas, they are a murderous criminal terrorists who declared a unilateral war and killed 1,300 people in unspeakable ways and Israel has every right to react to that.”
