Former Labor minister Graham Richardson expresses his opinion that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's trip to China has been delayed for too long. He acknowledges the importance of China as Australia's biggest trading partner but also highlights the tensions between the two countries in terms of military exercises.
Former Labor minister Graham Richardson says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s trip to China has been left “too long”.
The PM’s trip to China will be the first visit by an Australian Prime Minister since Malcolm Turnbull visited in 2016. “I think we’ve probably left it too long, but I’m glad Albo is going now,” Mr Richardson told Sky News Australia."They are, of course, our biggest trading partner, incredibly important to our economy, but also whenever we look at war games, they’re the enemy and so … I think Albo’s doing as good a job of it as is possible.”
