Gareth Mason appeared in court on Friday
The former boss of a Leeds academy trust will stand trial accused of a number of child sexual offences.
Gareth Mason, 52, is charged with seven counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16 and one count of attempting to indecently assault a girl under the age of 16. As he appeared at Leeds Crown Court on Friday, Mr Mason, of Meynell Road, Colton, pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
Mr Mason was told he will next appear at the court for a further case management hearing on February 21. A trial was set for March 31. He was chief executive of the Falcon Education Academies Trust, and also worked on secondment at Delta Academies Trust, which currently has 46 schools spread across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. It is understood he no longer works for the Trust.
