Rhian Brewster was highly-rated during his days in Liverpool's academy, but his fledgling career has been swamped by injuries
Former Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster hopes to rediscover the confidence that helped him initially shine in the Reds' academy, explaining how he has matured since his days on Merseyside.
It was decided he would better find regular play time elsewhere, first with a six-month to Swansea City in the second tier, scoring 11 in 22 appearances. This caught the attention of many and eventually Sheffield United took a £23.5m punt on the youngster as they fell back down to the Championship in 2020.
Serious, recurring hamstring injuries are the official cause of the problems. He has been out of action for a long period of time but having made his return against West Ham in the Premier League last month, Brewster let Yorkshire Live know of his intent to regain his goalscoring confidence of old through a newfound attitude and motivation from boss Paul Heckingbottom
"I think I’ve matured quite a bit in the three years I have been here. The gaffer has said he’s seen that on and off the pitch with recovery, taking on information during games and the way I play. For example, if I wasn’t in the team previously, I’d be angry and take it out during training.
