Craig Bellamy has been confirmed as the new Wales manager following Rob Page's departure
Bellamy has replaced Rob Page, who was dismissed last month. Bellamy declined the opportunity to stay at Burnley under new boss Scott Parker to become Wales' new manager.
"A UEFA Pro Licence holder through the FAW Coach Education system, Bellamy has been a coach since retiring from playing in 2014, most recently as acting head coach and assistant coach at Burnley in the English Premier League. Prior to joining Burnley, Bellamy was the U21 head coach and senior team assistant coach for Anderlecht and also worked in the academy of his boyhood club Cardiff City.
Former France forward Thierry Henry and Georgia boss Willy Sagnol were among those considered for the role. However, it is understood that Bellamy, who narrowly missed out on the job in 2017 when Ryan Giggs was appointed, impressed the FAW hierarchy during an interview in the north of England last week.
