Dutch footballer Memphis Depay was handed his sentence by a court in Monaco on Wednesday, and was given a four-month suspended sentence as well as a €9,000 fine and a two-year driving ban in Monaco. 'I would like to apologise here,' Depay wrote. 'Last summer, during my vacation in Monaco, I made a mistake and decided to drive home after having a drink in a restaurant. I should have gotten into a taxi instead, but I didn't.Depay issued an apology on Instagram after bein handed his sentence on Wednesday'That's why I want to apologise and take full responsibility for my actions. 2024 was a year of lessons and I will definitely learn from this.
However, Depay's stay in Manchester was a miserable one as he scored just seven goals in 53 appearances before departing after two years to join Lyon.
