With the help of Bluebell View’s Wellbeing Coordinator Beverly Sterry, David posted the card to Buckingham Palace, and he is eagerly awaiting a response.
A 95-year-old former RAF veteran, now living at HC-One’s Bluebell View Care Home in Oswestry, has created a hand-crafted Christmas card for his majesty King Charles and Queen Camilla.
David Housden, resident at HC-One’s Bluebell View, set about making his festive creation during a craft session. He decided the card was so wonderful, he was going to send it straight to the Palace. David said: “I admire and have a great respect for the royal family as they were the ceremonial head of the Armed Services and fastidiously tied to public duty.Beverly stated: “David is an ardent Royalist and wrote a lovely note inside the card for the Royal Couple. He showed his humour and twinkle in his eye when he wrote that he was in a home for oldies.”
