A former rugby ace is facing extradition to New Zealand to stand trial for a rape allegation from almost 30 years ago.
Budgen moved here in the 1990s, and became a lance corporal in the Royal Welsh Regiment, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is understood New Zealand police reopened the rape probe in 2010 and travelled here to take a DNA sample in 2015.
