Kyle Clifford, a former soldier, confessed to murdering his ex-girlfriend, her sister, and the wife of a BBC racing commentator. He admitted to using a crossbow and a knife in the horrific attack. Clifford is awaiting trial for rape charges.
A former soldier, Kyle Clifford, admitted to the murders of his ex-girlfriend, Louise Hunt, her sister Hannah Hunt, and Carol Hunt, the wife of BBC racing commentator John Hunt. The horrifying events took place on July 9, 2024, at their home in Bushey, Hertfordshire . Clifford, 26, used a crossbow to kill Louise and Hannah, and a 10-inch butcher's knife to kill Carol.
He was arrested in a north London cemetery after a near 24-hour manhunt, following a neighbor's report of screams and a distressed 999 call from Hannah. He appeared at Cambridge Crown Court today, where he pleaded guilty to three counts of murder, false imprisonment, and two counts of possession of offensive weapons. However, he denies one count of rape against Louise Hunt and will face a trial for this charge in March 2024. Hannah Hunt managed to call emergency services, fearing for her life as her sister and mother were attacked. Police arrived to find Hannah alive but with a crossbow bolt in her chest, despite desperate attempts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries. Clifford had tied Louise's arms and ankles with duct tape before shooting her with a crossbow. Carol was stabbed multiple times in the knee, hands, back, and torso. Doorbell footage captured Clifford calmly walking away from the scene, seemingly carrying a crossbow concealed under a white sheet. Hertfordshire Police issued a public appeal naming and sharing an image of Clifford, prompting a nationwide search. He was eventually found in the Lavender Hill Cemetery in Enfield, with self-inflicted injuries. Clifford's brother previously received a life sentence with a minimum of 23 years for murder. Now, Clifford faces a lengthy prison sentence after admitting to the brutal murders of the three women inside their own home
