Eddie Jordan has branded the budget cap 'a farce' as Red Bull make an all-conquering start to the 2023 campaign. RedBull Formula1 f1
The move to put a limit on what a team could spend across a Formula 1 season came into effect as of the 2021 campaign, the idea being to significantly reduce the spending gap between the top and bottom of the grid, thus creating a more competitive group of teams.
The latter part of that penalty was issued in a bid to disadvantage the team in the development race against rivals, but the early rounds of F1 2023 have suggested that teams have a huge amount of ground to make up on Red Bull who have firmly established themselves as the dominant outfit. Jordan it seems has never been the biggest fan of the budget cap, and Red Bull’s form simply makes it redundant to his mind.
