A spokesperson said: “Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Rev. Cannon Timothy Lipscomb on the sad news of his passing.
“He embraced his role in civic life with enthusiasm, commitment and great humour. We pay tribute to his outstanding service to the city and his civic support over many years in his numerous roles. He will be greatly missed.” He was the parish priest for St George The Martyr in George’s Road off Lune Street in Preston city centre as well as Preston Minster.
