The top running back in the NFL was out tonight, but lucky for the San Francisco 49ers, former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Jordan Mason was able to start in his

place. Mason has made a name for himself since going undrafted a few seasons ago, but he got a chance to start tonight with Christian McCaffrey on the sidelines as the 49ers faced Aaron Rodgers and the Jets.

Mason ran for 147 yards and one touchdown on 28 carries. Mason averaged 5.3 yards per carry against what is supposed to be a stout New York Jets defense.Mason was an instant contributor from the time he stepped foot on campus at Georgia Tech back in 2018. On just 108 carries in 2018, Mason totaled 659 yards and had seven touchdowns, while averaging 6.1 yards per carry. Mason had his career-best year in 2019, Geoff Collin's first year in Atlanta.
