After the House Ethics Committee last week acknowledged they were looking into an undisclosed issue involving Nehls, the Fort Bend County Republican quickly offered to assist them.

The committee routinely keeps details of ongoing investigations under wraps. They said the matter they were looking into was given to them in December by the Office of Congressional Ethics, an independent, non-partisan entity charged with reviewing allegations of misconduct against members of Congress.
