Former Ateneo point guard Forth Padrigao has transferred to the University of Santo Tomas (UST), the school announced his move on Saturday, September 30.
The Growling Tigers made the announcement just hours before they face the University of the East Red Warriors in the UAAP Season 86 men's basketball opener at the Mall of Asia Arena.UST Athletic Director Fr. Rodel Cansancio OP shared that Padrigao humbly came up to them with the intent of getting a second chance with the Catholic school.'He reached out to us and he said he wants to have a second chance after everything that has happened to him.
'He made the effort to prove that he's remorseful for the mistakes he's done and he wants to show that he's learned from those mistakes. UST is there to help him reform his ways especially since he's still a kid who needs guidance.'Padrigao, whose career got mired by sexual allegations, decided to leave Ateneo last August, apologetic to those he has hurt in the past and said that he looks to work on himself.
