West Africa growth in future
Fortuna Mining is poised to be one of the standout intermediate gold producers in 2025 as the completion of capital projects could slash its all-in sustaining costs and expand its margins chief executive Jorge Ganoza told Mining Journal.
With the completion of a $42 million leach pad expansion at Lindero in Argentina and the end of production at San Jose in Oaxaca, Mexico, later this year, Ganoza Fortuna expects to cut big chunks from its AISC and bring it below the sector average of $1500/oz. "Our lowest-cost mines are growing, and our highest-cost mines are reducing or coming out of production. The Lindero leach pad expansion adds $100/oz on the consolidated AISC.
