On Friday former NFL football player Garry Gilliam said he couldn't come to an agreement with the property owner.
Bridge Eco-Village CEO Garry Gilliam said his company attempted to purchase the former Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg , but couldn’t come to an agreement over price and concerns about liens on the property.purchased the 8-acre property in 2019 from the Diocese of Harrisburg for $300,000,
However, Gilliam, a former NFL football player, said the Bridge remains open at the campus and for events, including a farmers market on Sunday. At the recommendation of an attorney, Gilliam said the Bridge is waiting for Hunter’s foreclosure to air out before weighing a purchase.Hunter faced foreclosure in connection with the Market Street property after defaulting on two loans. Hunter’s company owed $714,411 and $1 million, respectively, against loans, including unpaid principal balances, past due, accrued and default interest and late fees, according to the documents.
However, Hunter said that wasn’t the case and he would gladly sell it to them for $3.9 million. He called Gilliam’s sales offers, including one for $2.5 million, not feasible.
