Four individuals have filed certificates of candidacy (COC) to fill the seat vacated by Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla in the special election in Cavite’s 7th Congressional District, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said on Wednesday.

“This is on account of the appointment and assumption to office of former Representative Jesus Crispin C. Remulla as Secretary of Justice, subsequent to his election thereto in the recently concluded May 9, 2022 National and Local Elections,” he added. Laudiangco said voting, counting, and canvassing of votes will be via the automated elections system, using the vote-counting machine and the consolidation and canvassing system .
He said the voters registration in the 7th District of Cavite was also suspended from November 25, 2022 to February 24, 2023.
