Branches across many UK banks are dying out as customers opt for online services.
The Bank of Scotland, Halifax, Lloyds and Natwest are shutting a combined 36 locations across the UK. It comes after Barclays and Lloyds Banking announced 63 closures this past June, including 19 across Scotland.
Closures are set to begin in 2024, with some starting as early as next January. Increasing bank closures have become more common as more customers opt for online banking services instead. "Our branches will continue to be an option for our customers, alongside our telephone services, mobile app and online bank.”
