Each bedroom will have its own ensuite and the attic space will be available as communal space for extra living,
Burnley Council has given permission for the four-bedroomed home at 17 Montague Road to be turned into a house in multiple occupation for up to five people. It has issued a Certificate of Lawful Development for the change.
A supporting statement from Manchester-based Robin Hood Property Development Limited says: “The property exists as a four-bedroom dwellinghouse with three decent sized bedrooms on the first floor with a shared family bathroom and an existing attic conversion used as the fourth bedroom.
“ study or storage space. The kitchen will remain in the same position and the cellar will become a laundry/ utility room. “It is assured that the potential issues that could arise from the proposed HMO conversion can be suitably managed. The security measures proposed should give reassurance to the occupants and the neighbours that the safety of the area will not suffer.
“The information that will be provided to the tenants along with signed anti-social behaviour policies should ensure that the tenants’ presence will not have a detrimental effect on the neighbourhood, especially regarding issues relating to noise and nuisance. The maximum occupation of up to five people will also be comparable to a typical number of people that would inhabit the existing four-bedroomed dwelling.
