A lane has been closed following the four-car crash at 8.15am.
The collision was reported around 8.15am on Wednesday morning at Junction 29 at St James interchange near Glasgow Airport.
One lane has been closed and Traffic Scotland has confirmed that tailbacks are already beginning. Travellers have been warned to expect delays.Drivers are urged to take care on approach.Traffic Scotland said: "Reports of a four vehicle collision on the M8 Eastbound around J29. Traffic is certainly tailing back as you can see on the cameras so please take care on approach.
