BREAKING: Fourth person in UK has died from coronavirus, health secretary confirms
A man in his 60s who had ‘a number of underlying health problems’ became the third person to die from Covid-19 in the UK yesterday after testing positive when he returned from Italy.
Updating MPs on coronavirus today, Mr Hancock said the government was not proposing to cancel mass gatherings at this point in time, but was taking action based on scientific evidence. ‘Our plan sets out what we are prepared to do and we’ll make the right choices of which action to pursue at the right moment.
‘Guided by the science we’ll act at the right time and we’ll be clear and open about our actions and the reasons for them.’The British politician also reiterated that he was confident Britain’s food supply would not be disrupted by coronavirus – even in the government’s reasonable worst-case scenario.
