Coppola's buzzed-about new movie gets an R rating.
After a decade of being in the works, Megalopolis is finally headed to theaters. The ambitious Francis Ford Coppola film is currently scheduled for a fall release — and now the movie has an official rating from the MPAA. According to the new rating, Megalopolis is officially"rated R for sexual content, nudity, drug use, language and some violence."
What Is Megalopolis About?Megalopolis is a Roman Epic fable set in an imagined Modern America. The City of New Rome must change, causing conflict between Cesar Catilina, a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero, who remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare.
