Frank Lampard to complete Chelsea return and take training today CFC
He is expected to take charge of training on Thursday and will be in the dugout for Saturday’s trip to Wolves.
Lampard watched Chelsea’s draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, just 48 hours after Potter’s departure. He has now agreed terms to take caretaker charge. The deal is purely short-term and will not go beyond the end of the season.Lampard will be assisted by Joe Edwards and Ashley Cole. Bruno Saltor, who stepped in to lead the team against Liverpool following Potter’s exit, is set to depart the club.He took charge of Everton a year later but was dismissed in January of this year following a run of nine defeats in 12 Premier League games.
The former England international is a club legend at Chelsea, winning three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups and a Champions League as a player. He is also their all-time highest goalscorer.
