Earlier this month, he opened his fifth location of Fred’s Burger in Concord. The other locations are in San Jose, Sacramento, Fairfield and Rocklin. A former Fremont resident who now lives in Elk Grove, Akbarpour has a long history in the restaurant business, owning pizza, chicken and Mediterranean-inspired restaurants around the Bay Area and Sacramento before developing and launching the concept behind Fred’s Burger.It’s a small, family-owned business that makes everything in-house, including the patties and sauces, he says.
