'We are very saddened to hear the news of Umar's passing'
Freddie Flintoff's Field Of Dreams team have paid tribute - following the tragic death of a teenager who appeared in the show.
As an ex-pupil of Penwortham Priory Academy, the school's Principal paid tribute to Umar earlier today, saying he "was a bright, studious and well-loved member of our school community". Umar appeared in the first series of Freddie Flintoff's Field of Dreams, a BBC documentary showing the former cricketer heading to his hometown of Preston and creating a new cricket team with promising teens.
Another pupil at the school, 16-year-old Adam Bodi, also died in the crash. A 17-year-old boy was also in the car as a front seat passenger and suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash.
