The former cricketer has rarely been seen after last year's crash left him with facial injuries and broken ribs
Freddie Flintoff praised England cricket team for their support as he opened up about the terrifying car crash that left him with broken bones during the filming of BBC show Top Gear.
Freddie, a dad of four, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. This meant that his face was in direct contact with the ground causing it to scrape across the coarse area. While Freddie, who is married to model and entrepreneur Rachael Wools, has been keeping out of the spotlight since the crash, he made a special effort to join the England Cricket team to help mentor them.
He continued: "And also part of a family of people. They'll share the good times with you, share the successes. But as I found over the past few months, they'll be there for you in the hardest times of your life. They will stand next to you. So, like the lion on the cap Tom, be brave, be, fearless, be proud and enjoy every minute."
It seems that Freddie had actually warned the production crew of Top Gear that he had concerns around the safety of driving the vehicle. He has since quit the show. A source told The Sun: "Freddie voiced his worries about the safety of the stunt on set on the day of the accident. He questioned whether or not it was OK, given the vehicle and conditions on the track. "
