Rachel Reeves gives first major speech as Chancellor
THOUSANDS of primary school kids will get free breakfasts from next April, Rachel Reeves announced today.revealed today that the first 750 primary schools will receive the clubs funding from April ahead of a wider national rollout., the Chancellor said: “I will judge my time in office a success if I know that at the end of it there are working-class kids from ordinary backgrounds who lead richer lives, their horizons expanded and have the chance to thrive.

Ms Reeves also vowed not to "duck the difficult decisions" in a bid to square the winter fuel cut with angry Labour members. Her decision to strip winter fuel payments from 10 million pensioners has been the subject of fierce debate at the Liverpool get-together.
